Where we come from
iTechGeeks builds industrial IoT systems — sensors on machines, data going somewhere useful, equipment that has to keep running when the network does not. That work has one habit baked into it: you assume things will fail, and you design so that a failure is survivable rather than total.
Houses are smaller than factories but the habit transfers. It is why we insist on local control instead of cloud-only devices, why we keep the ordinary wall switch working, and why we would rather fit fewer, better modules than fill a house with cheap ones.
What that means in practice
- Local first. If your internet drops, the lights still work from the switch and the app on your home Wi-Fi. The cloud is a convenience, not a dependency.
- The wall switch keeps working. Guests, parents, the maid, a child — nobody should need an app to turn on a light.
- You own it. The hub, the logins, the documentation. If you want someone else to change it in two years, you can.
- We will talk you out of things. There is a version of this where we sell you more. We would rather you ended up with a system you still use in three years.
What we are not
We are not a high-end control-system dealer. If you have an architect specifying a proprietary system for a large property with serious AV, that is a different trade and we will tell you so. We are also not the cheapest option — retail devices and a weekend of your time will always beat us on price, and for a small flat that is sometimes the right answer.
